Alcoa: Overview PROJECT LOCATION: Friendsville, TN LF Owner: City of Alcoa, City of Maryville, and Blount County Gas Rights: Alcoa Gas Producers, LLC GCCS: The GCCS consists of 30 vertical wells, 5 leachate cleanouts, and one passive vent for a total of 36 collection points. The lateral and header pipelines were completed in August of 2010 with the blower/flare station operational on November 8th, 2010. For carbon crediting and site maintenance purposes, the flare skid has a Siemens gas analyzer, venturi-style flow meters, thermocouple, pressure transmitters and a digital chart recorder. Approx # of tones in Place: 2 million Gas Flows (@50% CH4): 375-400scfm Carbon: Yes – Listed on CAR End-Use Option(s): Power – 10yr PPA under TVA’s Generation Partners Program Project Description: AGP has a long-term gas rights contract with the City of Alcoa. The landfill began accepting waste in 1973 and is expected to remain open for another 40 years. A Caterpiller 3516A+ combustion engine was installed and came online in early August, 2011. The project was developed by Enerdyne System, Inc and built by Enerdyne's construction arm, Advance One Development, LLC as a completely voluntary action. This Non-NSPS site is eligible for carbon credits and is registered under CAR's US Landfill Protocol 3.0 (CAR807). POWER GENERATION End User: Tennessee Valley Authority
